The Mehndi party

Colourful sari fabric drap the entrance of the marquee, vases are filled with chillies and limes and as guests arrive and enjoy the mouth watering Indian delicatessens the sound of two Dhol players escorting the groom and his family seeps through the marquee walls. A grand swing takes centre stage on the dance floor to seat the bride and groom during the ceremonies. Guests enjoy a night of singing, dancing and Mendhi to the sound of a traditional Indian band and DJ.

The wedding ceremony

As this was an interfaith wedding we helped every step of the way to make it a true reflexion of the bride and groom’s union. The breathtaking great hall was a stunning venue for the colourful Hindu ceremony. As guests went to another room to enjoy drinks and canapés the great hall was re-set for dinner. “Around the world” food stalls were positioned around the room offering Indian, Italian, English and Asian cuisine. We created the informal and relaxed atmosphere the bride and groom wished for by having both classic round banqueting tables and high poseur tables with stools. Guests could go from one table to another at leisure, mingling and enjoying the displays of mouth watering foods. The romantic and elegant colour scheme of ivory and gold completed the beautiful room and while white Orchids brought a little something exotic to the setting. Entertainment highlights included a bespoke song composed and performed on the night by an Opera singer and a 12 piece live band that filled the dance floor until the earlier hours.
