A masquerade ball in the museum!

Recently, we delivered a beautiful masquerade ball at the Victoria & Albert Museum. This was a really fun event to organise as it allowed us to go crazy and get creative with the theme and the details. The venue space of the V&A museum was the perfect setting for this event to take place as it was very fitting for the theme of the event, creating an incredible atmosphere for the guests.

For this event we used The Dome Room which has an impressive high domed ceiling and traditional architecture rising up over the grand marble floor. We also used the sculpture gallery, which displays some of the finest sculptures the V&A has and makes a great place for holding an event, creating a magical setting for the evening to commence. We also had access to the beautifully manicured gardens, regarded as one of the best garden event spaces in London. The garden offers a peaceful addition to any event with a beautiful water feature taking centre stage in the middle of the gardens surrounded by trees which light up once the sun sets, offering guests a magical place to catch some air away from the celebrations.

 

On arrival, incredible feather-dressed men stood handing out masks for everyone in attendance, ensuring everyone got in the spirit of the event, which in turn helped create the theme and bring it life. All the guests loved the beautiful array of masks and were excited to get involved with the theme.

The venue was filled with flowers throughout; these flowers created an elegant feel to the celebration and also added a pops of colour against the walls and the tables.

This striking illuminative bar was the centre of attention. It commanded attention from all areas of the room and ensured everyone knew where exactly the bar was, which was great for getting the party started!

Our meticulous planning of the theme and small details even came down to the waiters who all wore white masks in keeping with the masquerade theme. These small details are important as they can really bring a theme to life, taking a good event to an outstanding event which guests will remember forever.

For this event, we had a number of different acts performing and entertaining guests. To welcome guests we had a group of actors dressed up in traditional costumes, creating an interactive entrance which the guests loved, judging by their smiles.

Also on hand to entertain guests were these incredible fire breathers, dressed in beautifully designed outfits. The fire breathers enthralled guests throughout the night, keeping them entertained and amazed all night long.

The masquerade ball also surprised guests with a flash mob, with waiters surprising un-suspecting guests when they burst out into dance, creating a hype of activity during the reception. During their performance, the crowd of guests were full of surprised and entertained faces – it certainly was a shock that guests will be remembering for some time to come.

The talented band Xtatic performed for guests during the evening. Xtatic are recognised as one of the best function bands on the circuit, delivering exceptional entertainment each and every time. With their astoundingly wide repertoire, each performance can be remarkably different and tailored to the client’s requirements. This sensational group of talented and experienced artists delighted the audience and put everyone in the mood to party.
